OUR MISSION

To foster a community of women through programs that educate, inform, and enhance its members’ intellectual and spiritual lives, while kindling bonds of friendship. This mission is accomplished within the framework of the values of Reconstructionism and the infrastructure of  University Synagogue.

The Women’s Connection donates its program revenues to the synagogue for  various projects, such as dues scholarships for women called “Women Helping Women,” synagogue enhancement projects, Tikkun Olam, and High Holy Days musicians.

Special events sponsored by Women’s Connection include:

  • Annual Women’s Seder
  • Discussions and speakers on issues important to women, such as “Controversies Over Real and Fake News” presented by Dr. Nadine Koch Steinberg
  • Spring Women’s Retreat
  • Mah Jongg and Bridge Day

Women’s Connection has certainly enhanced my synagogue experience. The many and varied women’s groups have afforded me new friendships and new learning opportunities.

Camaraderie among women.. Appreciating the efforts to do good for others while supporting meaningful projects that enhance Synagogue life

-ROZ VOGELFANGER

I was pleased to learn that The Women’s Connection is involved in Women Helping Women, and supports the Shabbat music band. The programs, both educational and entertaining have enriched my life.

-VIVIEN ATLAS

I especially value Book Club. The discussions are often both eye-opening and stimulating and offer one more way for synagogue women to connect in a meaningful way.

JOIN AN INTEREST GROUP

MEET NEW PEOPLE AND ENJOY FUN ACTIVITIES

One of the best parts of University Synagogue Women’s Connection is our activity groups.

We have a wide range of groups, which consist of women who share a similar interest and meet periodically to socialize and enjoy that interest. In this way we are able to enjoy each other’s company in smaller groups and activities, as well as at our larger meetings and events.

Each activity group decides how frequently they wish to meet and what they will do at their meetings. If you are interested in more information about any of the Women’s Connection groups, please contact the group coordinator.
