For the third year in a row, University Synagogue will be marching in the OC Pride Parade and this year we will also have a booth at the Pride Festival!
 
This year’s parade “OC Pride Blaze it Forward” honors the memory of Blaze Bernstein. Over six years after Blaze’s tragic death, his legacy continues to inspire. Blaze’s parents, Jeanne Pepper and Gideon Bernstein, will be serving as this year’s Grand Marshals for the parade. 

The Bernstein family has been part of the University Synagogue community for many years, and we are proud to march in Blaze’s memory and in support and gratitude for his family, who, after their son’s murder, committed their lives to improving the safety, equality, and acceptance of people in or connected to the LGBTQIA+ community.
 
This year, OC Pride will be held on Saturday, October 5 at the OC Fairgrounds. The parade steps off at 11:00 am and the festival runs from noon until 10:00 pm.
