“Modern Jewish Thought:
Shaping Us & Shaping The Future”
November 11, 12 & 13, 2011
Led by Rabbi Arnold Rachlis
RSVP BY OCTOBER 18, 2011
Our 21st Annual Congregational Kallah will be a weekend of fun for adults and kids of all ages with study, socializing, singing, good eating, services and more. Get to know Rabbi Rachlis, Cantor Braier and your fellow synagogue members of all ages at the tree-lined hilltop Kellogg West conference center in Pomona, CA. Just 32 miles from University Synagogue, the Friday afternoon drive from Irvine will take about 1 hour. This year, we are returning to our popular “2-night” schedule.
We will enjoy study sessions with Rabbi Rachlis and U.S. members, socializing, attending Shabbat and Havdalah services, our famous talent show, time for relaxation, reflection, recreation and getting to know our fellow congregants even better. Children will have their own super-fun Kallah experience and may choose to stay in rooms with their friends and our synagogue counselors. All children will participate in fully planned, age-appropriate activities with Jewish themes. Children must be at least 4 years old to participate.
Did we mention food?? There will be 6 meals, beginning with Shabbat dinner on Friday night and continuing through lunch Sunday afternoon. Meals will include a variety of selections to accommodate a wide range of tastes and diets.
If you’ve attended our previous Kallot, you know how special and rewarding the experience can be. If this will be your first Kallah, then you’re in for a real treat, because we plan to make this one most enjoyable! Participants come home refreshed, inspired, informed and with new friends who might just last a lifetime!! The rabbi’s topic this year makes this Kallah even more relevant.
