UCI Law Professor Jennifer M. Chacón will speak on “Immigrant Communities, Language and Memory”

Professor Jennifer M. Chacón is a leading national expert on the intersection of immigration law and criminal law. Her ongoing research has been funded by the Russell Sage Foundation and the National Science Foundation. Prior to entering law teaching, Professor Chacón was an associate at the New York law firm of Davis Polk & Wardwell and a clerk to the Honorable Sidney R. Thomas of the Ninth Circuit.
Prof. Chacón is currently Professor of Law and Senior Associate Dean for Administration in the School of Law at the University of California, Irvine. She holds a JD from Yale Law School, an AB from Stanford University and has also held visiting positions at Stanford Law School and Harvard Law School. She is married to UCI Law Prof. Jonathan D.
