“Hitler in Los Angeles: How Jews Foiled Nazi Plots Against Hollywood and America” will be the theme of Yom HaShoah/Holocaust Memorial Shabbat and Yizkor services, led by Rabbi Rachlis and Cantor Braier, with guest speaker USC History Professor Steven J. Ross

USC History Professor Steven J. Ross who is the Director of the Casden Institute for the Study of the Jewish Role in American Life. The University Synagogue choir will sing with pianist David Diiorio.

Prof. Ross is the son of two Holocaust survivors. His most recent book, “Hitler in Los Angeles: How Jews Foiled Nazi Plots Against Hollywood and America” was on the Los Angeles Times Best Seller List and was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award. His previous book, “Hollywood Left and Right: How Movie Stars Shaped American Politics,” received the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Film Scholars Award and was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize. Prof. Ross’ Op-Ed pieces have appeared in the Los Angeles Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, International Herald-Tribune, Huffington Post and Politico.
